Urban Paving’s range of handcrafted Indian sandstone is sourced from the highest quality mines in India. Each individual paving stone is unique in both texture and colour. Indian sandstone presents a harmonious blend of subtle natural tones within a controlled colour palette. Using this product in your outdoor area not only adds value to your property, but introduces a timeless aspect of quality and longevity. You can almost feel the warming rays of the sun-baked Indian quarries where this beautiful soft stone is at home!

Indian sandstone paving is available in 8 unique and natural sandstone colours. Each has its own charms and characteristics, from a stormy cloud shade or a gentle walnut tone, to a warm rich chocolate or a striking unsuspecting black.

All colour reproductions on this website are as close as possible to the original, however some variations will occur in product colour and shading. To get a good feel for all our Indian sandstone colours in natural light, pop into the vast display area of our Christchurch yard.

Urban Paving has 2 main sandstone textures to choose from. Natural Split has a bold texture that blends beautifully in an outdoor area and is the most popular choice in New Zealand. Honed Indian sandstone is beautifully smooth, but non-slip and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

Pipi, Cloud, and Walnut.

The colour we stock in the Honed texture is:

Pipi.

Many homeowners choose Indian sandstone pavers for their pool, entertaining areas and pathways because of its natural beauty and subtle style. Urban Paving can provide bull nose paving (round-edged pavers) for the soft edges around pools and steps. If required we can bull nose on more than one side.

If you desire a classic cobblestone driveway then ask about our Indian setts – these are natural black cobbles that have been used for centuries in England. Our cobblestones are available in any of our colours, but the most popular is black limestone or black granite. These natural stone setts come in a shallower 40 mm to 60 mm for borders around a pool or patio, or a deeper 80 mm to 100 mm for driveways.

Sometimes you can't look past the beauty of New Zealand. Urban Paving have contracts with quarries around the South Island to market and distribute their natural stone paving.

Waitaha Split Paving brings a depth and quality to your outdoor area, an untamed element that can only be found here on our own West Coast. This largely under-utilised NZ stone is sparkling grey in colour which makes it stunning for walling, outdoor living areas, pathways, pool and fire surrounds. It comes in random shapes and sizes from 300 mm up to 650 mm.

Our exclusive Waitaha Stepping Stones are also from the South Island's West Coast and make a great feature in a garden, sparkling grey amongst plants. These NZ paving stones are of roughly circular shape, ranging in size from 300 mm to 600 mm and are very popular for garden pathways.
